This coming weekend, Aquila Formula 1000, the Nordic region’s leading entry-level formula racing series, enters the second half of the 2026 championship as drivers gather at Ring Knutstorp for the season’s fourth round during the classic Svenskt Sportvagnsmeeting. Following last weekend’s race at Sturup Raceway, the series stays in Skåne for an intense back-to-back weekend. With only four points separating the top two in the Overall Championship, another decisive step awaits in the fight for this year’s titles.
Albin Gustafsson arrives at Knutstorp as leader of both the Overall Championship and the Junior RM. The Västerås driver has taken four wins in the first three rounds and leads the overall standings with 303 points, just four ahead of Norwegian rookie Even Hoff Knai on 299. Andreas Skatteboe, who took two wins at Sturup Raceway, remains third overall with 279 points while also holding a firm grip on the lead in the Senior Championship.
Behind the top three, the battle continues to tighten. Enzo Cohlin has established himself in fourth overall and third in the Junior RM after two consecutive strong race weekends, while Denmark’s Mason Bjerring has climbed to fourth in the Junior RM and second in the Rookie Championship following his best weekend yet in the series.
In the Rookie Championship, Even Hoff Knai remains in command, though Bjerring closed the gap at Sturup. Carl-Wilhelm Björnemalm sits third after a consistent start to the season, while Julius Gyllin has moved up to fourth place following his first major points haul of the year.
Many drivers have shown a steady form curve through the start of the season. Max Stjernelund has advanced to fifth in the Junior RM, Pete Norbäck remains eighth after a consistent points haul, and Embla Larsson is chasing her first top-five finish of the season. In total, 18 drivers are entered for this weekend’s race at the technical, undulating Skåne circuit.
“Knutstorp is another track that’s hard to overtake on. It’s easy to defend your position, and easy to make mistakes. As always, the aim is wins, but above all I want a fun weekend,” says Andreas Skatteboe.
Championship runner-up Even Hoff Knai also arrives at Knutstorp looking for redemption after the dramatic race weekend at Sturup Raceway, where he showed strong pace but lost several top results to penalties and incidents. Despite that, the gap up to Gustafsson is just four points as the series enters its second half. “It could have been three wins out of three, but instead it was none. That’s racing sometimes. I’m taking everything positive from the weekend, learning from what happened, and looking forward to continuing to push forward,” says Even Hoff Knai after the races at Sturup.
