The Nordic Aquila Formula 1000 Championship presents strong calendar for 2025
The Nordic Aquila Formula 1000 Championship is Scandinavia’s premier introductory formula racing series, and an official Swedish Junior National Championship. The 2025 edition is looking especially strong, with an exciting race season over seven rounds across two countries.
The 2024 Championship ended last September, after a season that saw Aquila Formula 1000 compete on some of Sweden’s best tracks along with, among others, STCC, Porsche Carrera Cup, V8 Thunder Cars, SSK and Formula Nordic.
The historic first official Swedish Aquila Formula 1000 Junior National Championship title was taken home by Richard Olson, who also became Overall Champion. The brilliant Dane, Kevin Suenson, defended the senior title in 2024.
An exciting calendar for 2025 is now presented, where The Nordic Aquila Formula 1000 Championship will compete on seven unique tracks in both Sweden and Denmark.
The season starts at the end of April with the Spring Race at Mantorp Park on 25-27/4. The Mittsverigebanan, outside Härnösand, returns to the Championship on May 16-18 before the Gelleråsloppet in Karlskoga rounds off the Spring part of the season during Ascension Day weekend on May 30-June 1.
After a short summer break, the Skåne Ring Knutstorp starts things up again on July 4-6, before the Championship heads to Götene and the Kinnekulle Ring on July 25-27. On August 15-17, AF1000 makes the trip down to Denmark and Ring Djursland. The series finale will be held at Falkenbergs Motorbana on September 26-27.
Johan Varland, the Nordic Aquila Formula 1000 Championship Promotor, is very satisfied with the 2025 calendar –
“It is very exciting to be able to present a calendar for 2025 with several of Sweden’s great classic tracks. Aquila Formula 1000 is 100% about developing the young talent in real proper competitive race situations. That means the art of race craft, and learning to be fast in varied conditions. That is why it is important to have different tracks where all the elements are there. Solid straights for slipstreaming, curvy technical sections where you can race 2-3 wide, and elevation changes that develop their sense of weight transfer. We welcome all of Nordic Motorsport to come and watch some of the region’s tightest and entertaining racing!”
